The Goodwood Festival of Speed, established as one of the world’s premier motor sport and motoring events, celebrated its 25th anniversary at the weekend, with a simply incredible display of exotic and exciting machinery taking to the famous hillclimb course.
Among the stars were many of the fantastic Ferrari’s that took part, not least those provided by the factory itself. Goodwood, hosted by Lord March who has long been a fan of all things motorsport, is a showcase in which the public can get up close to exotic machinery, and Ferrari always takes the opportunity to showcase its wares.
Flagship Models
The Supercar Run is a crowd favourite at Goodwood, an opportunity to see the very latest machinery driven at speed, and Ferrari did not disappoint with no fewer than four models making their mobile debut at a UK show.
The amazing Ferrari FXX K Evo, driven by Ferrari GT racer Davide Rigon, was joined by the magnificent 812 Superfast, a 488 Pista – the latest version of the wonderful Ferrari 488 – and the beautiful Ferrari Portofino. All of these were given great runs up the hill in style. Much to the appreciation of the massive crowd.
Racing Heritage
Also on the hill was James Calado, Ferrari WEC driver, who gave the Ferrari 488GTE a thrilling run, plus the Ferrari 488 Challenge, the car that forms the basis of the racing series that is the world’s most popular single make series.
In addition to road cars, ex-Formula One driver Marc Gene demonstrated the wonderful Ferrari F60 F1 car, a firm reminder that Ferrari is the only manufacturer offering such a range of racing machinery for clients of all levels of experience and intent.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed once again succeeded in celebrating all that is great about Ferrari, motor racing and supercars, to the delight of a sun-drenched crowd in glorious surroundings.
