The Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the world’s premier motoring and motorsport events, takes place this weekend, and features an array of cars – both old and new – that is unrepeated elsewhere in the world.
One very special exhibit is that from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, involving a faithful recreation of the famous Grand Courtyard that graced the entrance to the home of Rolls-Royce. Using no fewer than 14,000 cobbles and 50 tonnes of sand, the beautiful space has been reimagined on the Laundry Green, and will be the site of a display that will wow the crowds this year.
Wraith Eagle VIII Debut
The Rolls-Royce collection on show at Goodwood will include the British debut of the spectacular Rolls-Royce Wraith Eagle VIII – you can read more about this very special bespoke Rolls-Royce at Supercartribe – which commemorates the amazing achievement by Captain John Alcock and Lieutenant Arthur Brown of the first transatlantic flight in 1919.
Also on show will be bespoke versions of the entire Rolls-Royce product range, which promises to be a quite spectacular show of some of the finest cars in the world. Examples of the Phantom, Cullinan, Ghost and Dawn will be present, with Black Badge models being to the fore.
The Black Badge range is designed to invite a younger driver to the Rolls-Royce family, offering bespoke and exclusive detailing. The Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge commission on show at Goodwood, finished in a stunning Magma Red, also debuts the amazing Red Starlight Headliner, which involves the use of 1,340 fibre optic lights for a unique and amazing interior finish.
Rolls-Royce on the Hill
Rolls-Royce will again send a car up the legendary Goodwood Hill during the Supercar run, with the honour going to a Black Badge Silver Wraith. The car will be driven by a member of the Rolls-Royce Black Gloves Programme, which is open to Black Badge model owners who want to enjoy the full performance and driving experience of their cars.
Rolls-Royce also provides the Course Director’s car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, with the honour going to the marque’s flagship model, the Rolls-Royce Phantom.
