The Ferrari F8 Tributo is a lot more than a mere development of the Ferrari 488. Although effectively a replacement for the 488GTB, the F8 Tributo is a step forward in some style with its gloriously sculpted, aerodynamically advanced styling, but it’s what’s powering this astonishing car that is the main focal point.
The 3.9-litre, turbocharged V8 is the engine from the 488 Pista, but is here in a production car for the first time. With 710bhp readily available, this is the most powerful non-hybrid engine Ferrari has ever put on the road, and the most powerful V8 in the history of the marque.
The F8 Tributo is a direct tribute to the V8 engined Ferrari’s of the past. Take a long, wishful look over one and you’ll see design cues from legends of the past – a touch of the 288GTO here, nods to the iconic F40 there – that mark this out as a true, red-blooded Maranello machine, and here’s one you can buy right now, without having to wait.
2020 Car in Rosso Corsa
The traditional Ferrari red – Rosso Corsa – adorns this example that sits gleaming in the sun at Roman’s International of Banstead, Surrey. This undoubtedly beautiful car is a brand new, 2020 model with a mere 57 miles on the clock. You read that right – fifty-seven miles. One of the first out of the factory, this F8 Tributo comes with the preferred cream leather interior, plus a wealth of options specified by the original buyer.
The 20-inch forged wheels in silver are the perfect choice for the vehicle, the interior features detailing in carbon fibre not seen on ‘standard’ examples, the yellow brakes make for a wonderful contrast, and the specially designed seats are an option that, were your to specify your own F8 Tributo, you would do so now you’ve seen how beautiful they are.
The sheer abundance of extras – we could list more above the parking camera, suspension lifter, passenger display – must mark this out as one of the most highly-specified F8 Tributo’s of all.
A Future Classic
It’s a cliché to mark a car out as a future classic, but such is the magnificence and capability of the F8 Tributo, and so strongly does it pay appropriate tribute to legends of the past, that it is not just that – it’s an instant classic, a car that collectors of the marque and of supercars in general will be clamouring to buy. And that this one is now available in the UK, where it was ordered and delivered, makes it a very desirable model that will not be slow to sell.
211mph, 2.9 seconds to 62mph, and that glorious, howling jewel of a V8 behind you, all in the comfort of a superbly designed cabin, and handling that is simply top of the class. If Supercartribe could specify the perfect car, it wouldn’t be far removed from this wonderfully evocative Ferrari F8 Tributo. The price? It’s one of those ‘if you have to ask, you can’t afford’ moments, but we’re willing to wager someone, somewhere has already snapped this up by the time you read this.
