In today’s Drool we have an absolutely peach for you, the Koenigsegg CCXR Edition. It’s a rare car to start with, with only 4 produced in total. But this example is the rarest being only 1 of 1 RHD examples. To our American and European readers, right hand drive is what drivers use when driving on the correct side of the road!
I actually find it amazing how a small manufacturer like Koenigsegg make the low volume model in RHD. Bear in mind that other larger volume Hypercar manufacturers like Ferrari and Bugatti only manage to make their cars in LHD. Unless you happen to be a Sultan in which case they will ask you how many would Sir like?
The first Koenigsegg dates back to 1996, but it was only in 2002 that they started to get serious. Many brands gun for the top and fall far short, but Koenigsegg has not only reached the peak but also extended it beating cars like Bugatti to speed records, with a much smaller backing and budget.
The credentials of the Koenigsegg CCXR Edition is impressive, but it’s not just about speed. It’s also about style and beauty, and the shape has aged remarkably well. Trademark design features include those usual doors called dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors. I kid you not, and no other car has them! Another lesser recognised feature is the cockpit style wraparound windscreen. Just take a look and look how far back that A pillar is. Amazing view of the road!
The Koenigsegg CCXR Edition
But driving this will mean all eyes are on this Koenigsegg CCXR Edition. It’s hard to believe that this is already 10 years old, but not surprisingly has only 1,070 miles on the clock. Hardly run in then!
The car is available at GVE London, and here is what they have to say about it:
The Koenigsegg CCXR Edition was created to break records in the traditional Koenigsegg way. Our aim with the CCXR Edition is to deliver superior performance – on the track, in a straight line and your favourite winding road – and to do so in style and comfort.
At the time of its release, no other supercar could match the CCXR Edition in terms of power-to-weight ratio, aerodynamic balance, downforce and chassis stiffness. At the same time, the CCXR Edition maintained fantastic drivability with a chassis and suspension setup that could absorb uneven road surfaces like no other Hypercar.
The Koenigsegg CCXR Edition featured a remapped, 4.8 litre twin-supercharged flexfuel Koenigsegg engine producing a massive 1018hp. The lowered chassis was track-tuned with the inclusion of modified shock absorbers, stiffer springs and anti-roll bars.
The CCXR Edition was only produced in four examples and featured a number of unique specifications including its 4.8 liter flexfuel engine, 11 spoke wheels, a unique rear wing, unique side winglets, etc. These features, in combination with the suberb fit and finish of the Koenigsegg all visible carbon body and chassis construction, truly made the CCXR Edition an unrivalled work of automotive art.
The car is finished in bare Carbon Fibre with attention to detail like no other car on the market. Full dealership history, New bodywork, Red Part suede interior – New Condition, Exposed Carbon Fibre.
Every so often very special cars become available. This Koenigsegg CCXR Edition is defiantly one of them. Enjoy the Drool.
